Gin

This loosely connects any home-made alcoholic [cough - sometimes very] beverage that uses gin as its basic content.  I only use gin because I prefer it to vodka, but it's essentially the same - any virtually tasteless spirit.

I pretty much always use the cheap-and-cheerful supermarket own-brand as a base now, rather than go for a gin that has a certain refinement of flavour, which would certainly be wasted once infused with whatever the recipe calls for.
